Hi, I am Max. I am a communication designer/information designer with a Master's degree who has decided to create 3D content. Within the 3D discipline I have specialized in animation, product and process visualization, modeling and texturing. As a trained communication designer, I understand my work not only in the simple design of visualizations but more in creating fascination and interest through the telling of a story. I started with 3D during my Master's degree in Information Design at the Technical University of Würzburg Schweinfurt in 2016, for my Master's thesis "Virtuos", in which I developed measurement methods and visualisations for decisions made by the player in a video game. That's why I needed a lot of 3D assets and basic knowledge of Unity game development.
How it started
After I received my master's degree, I decided to get more involved with 3D. First with Cinema 4D as I was already somewhat familiar with it.
Only a few weeks after my Master's degree, I worked at the Research Institute for Digital Media and gradually became a professional in 3D design. I added a few more programmes to my repertoire.
I increasingly worked with Octane Renderer, Blender, Unity, Adobe After Effects and later Character Creator 3.
How it is going
My core skills include animations with a technical background. Over the past seven years, I have mainly worked for clients in the production and mobility sectors. Accordingly, I understand the visual representation of mechanical objects very well, be it for the purpose of informative knowledge transfer, appealing presentation or emotional narrative style.
Currently my main tools are Blender, Substance Painter and the Unreal 5 Engine or Da Vinci Resolve and Photoshop for post-production.
In the long term, I want to give more space to my fascination for cinematographic content. I want to delve deeper into the subject matter of staging and gain more experience in the field of filmmaking. I've always got stuck on certain scenes in films that I had to watch several times in an attempt to make verbally tangible what fascinates me so much. This fascination has always held me.
